Flash Fiction – 10/23/2015

“I love you, so much,” I murmured against Thomas’s ear before wrapping my arms around his neck, placing my lips on the back of his head.

He kissed my forearm, snuggling closer. We stayed like that, together in the cooling bathwater. No need to talk. We both knew this weekend had been a gift, a chance to love each other before returning to our duties. We lived for the happiness liberty calls brought with it. Each port allowed us to explored each other without worrying about getting caught.

With a sight, we dried up and put on our dress whites.
