New month, new WIP. I’m currently working on a second chance contemporary novella. It’s almost at 7K right now, and I’m aiming for 36K total. The MCs were a couple in college and their plans to move out-of-state together didn’t work. After, they tried a long distance relationship that died quietly. It has been fifteen years, and they are seeing each other for the first time. Enjoy!
“Professor Grant, I believe you’re expecting me,” Clay said followed by a smile he hoped ease Aaron’s frown.
“That, I am, Mr. Keller. As the university liaison, is my pleasure to welcome you back to your Alma Mater and pass the President’s and the Board of Trustee’s deepest regards.”
“How long it took you to memorize that spiel, as far as I remember you weren’t fond of formalities,” Clay said without letting go of Aaron’s hand.
“Ass,” Aaron said smiling before pulling Clay forward for a hug.
As soon as their bodies touched, Aaron tensed but Clay held him tighter. “Relax, sunshine. It’s been a while.” Clay let Aaron go, but not before he rubbed his trimmed beard against Aaron’s clean shaven face as he moved back.
PS. I know it’s a little more than six sentences, but who’s counting?
Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, readers, and bloggers to gather once a week to share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation.
