2016 #ROW80 Round 2: Check-In #4 | 10 Minute Novelist: Update 13
Not much had changed since my Wednesday update. No new words on my #WIP, but I’m up-to-day with my reading/reviews. Even had a chance to read two or three books that had been on my TBR for a while now.
Also, I got two new ratings on Graphic Exposure. Which is the book I’m planning to work/expand on next month. I’m in the process to get some beta readers to get a better idea of what else I can incorporate into the story and the areas they would like to get more information.
I’m not done with my current projects, but I’m already looking forward to next month. The faster I finish, the faster I can move forward. And, I’m sure, as soon as I start, I’d want to finish to get to the next one.
That’s one of the reasons I love flash fiction and novellas so much because I can work on them quickly before the next plot bunny tries to take over. I wonder if I would ever write something longer than 55K words. For now, I’m okay with not finding the answer. I’m having too much fun creating all these short stories.

I like flash and novellas for the same reason! Although my real passion is novels. It takes me at least a year to write a novel. Lately I’ve been experimenting with working on more than one project, if I can handle it.
I’m 2/3rds into my main WIP, and I am loving it, but yes, I am ready for something new. I have a possibility if I can finish outlining it soon.
My problem is that I always have several projects, of varying lengths, going on at one time, and then end up never finishing any. Right now, I am working on a memoir for CampNaNoWriMo. I’ve decided that at the end of the month, whether I am done with it or not, I am going to put it away and go to the next project.
I fall more into Chris’ camp as well. I have several irons in the fire, nd have trouble bringing any of them to completion. (Can we say ADD?) I can usually pull things along to a certain point, then I stop.
As for what you enjoy writing, go with what works for you. There are no rules, thankfully!
