Monday Flash Fic – Hologram – 04/24/2017

Virtual Reality

Hologram

He was too old for insecurities. Yes, he had been attracted to men before, but it was a different story to let one have him.

Joseph could only serve his people if the King desired him, and not knowing anything about his husband-to-be but his name was not a fit start for a new Consort.

Taking his shirt off he laid on the empty room floor and waited. A naked hologram of King Saul joined him a minute later, straddling him. He shivered when his hands were held above his head and the King’s lips graced his.

“Please, my King.”

Monday Flash Fic – Hurricane – 04/17/2017

Shark

Hurricane

“See, babe! Look around,” Jeremy said, pointing outside their car window. “We left town for nothing. I told you this hurricane wasn’t going to hit here.”

Darrian ignored Jeremy and continued driving. He wanted to stay in their townhouse, but his husband’s safety was more important—even when the fool didn’t think so.

“What’s that?” Jeremy asked when they entered their subdivision. “Oh, my god! That’s one of the sharks from Jimmy’s Seafood Shack.”

“And for what I can see, it’s now ours,” Darrian replied when their brownstone came to view—a giant gray shark now stuck on the roof.

Monday Flash Fic – Fairytale – 04/10/2017

Fairytale

Fairytale

When Madame Lucille left, I closed the door and took a deep breath. With it, my apartment started to morph back. I was exhausted. Every hour after midnight the party lasted, zapped vital energy from my reserve. At least, I achieved my task, getting me a step closer to join the royal fairy godmother prep school. I sat down on the edge of the sinkhole in the dilapidated place I called home. The shadow on the window had me conjuring my teal dress and white stockings back, but if they wanted to see the truth behind the spell, let them.

Monday Flash Fic – Jumping Ship – 04/03/2017

Water

Jumping Ship

“Are you sure this would work?” Apprehension showed on Julian’s face. He tilted his head, studying me in return.

“I’m not sure Sire. The words of the ancient scribes are just myths. We don’t know if other worlds besides ours exist.

“But it could be true?” I smiled at him. If someone had the answer it would be my royal mage. “We need to win this battle. I need to find a giant to join our ranks.”

“Very well. When we reach the lake’s deep end, jump ship.”

I did, and my body was pulled down by the undercurrent. I panicked, tried to swim toward the surface, but only sank further. As my lungs filled with water, I prayed to the gods to save my kingdom. I let go, and everything went black.

A loud noise, followed by a strong wind and the ground vibrating brought me out of stasis. I opened my eyes only to get water in them. I closed them again and shuddered. Wait! I can breathe. I raised my head and looked around. I lay in a water puddle, strange buildings around me, and a paper replica of my galleon beside me. We did it!

Monday Flash Fic – Taking Fly – 03/27/2017

Darkness

Taking Fly

“You have to hit eighty-eight miles before you reach the lights.” James laughed and extended his arms. He moved side to side, feeling the wind against him. His backpack pulled his weight backward, making him loose his footing. Standing up, he cleaned his muddy hands over his jeans before pushing his beanie further down his damp hair.

“Doc, I’m almost there. I’m not going to make it.” He walked faster. And as soon as he reached the dimmed lights, a strong flash propelled his body forward. The fog was finally gone.

“Nice to have you home,” Doc said.

Nice indeed.
