#NaNoWriMo Preview

It’s that time of the year again. Not Christmas, but NaNoWriMo–National Novel Writing Month. The purpose of the event is to write a brand-spanking new, 50K words novel in one month, but that’s not what I’m doing. This year, I’m being a #NaNoRebel. I’m planning to write a 10K words short story, and a 40K novella. In reality, the short story is my priority, and I’ll work in the novella later on the month.

Below you will see the face claims for A Demon’s Duty to the Devil’s Son. Elliott and Vincent have an interesting connection and some rather lovely fetishes.

And you will get to meet Scott & Patrick in Tow Trucks & New Year’s Kisses this holiday season. The first installment in the Cupcakes & Brews series would be available from NineStar Press very soon. The Untitled novella will be book #2 and we will see what happens next with the two business men.

Happy NaNo, everyone!

onepulse_fbbanner_dspToday’s snippet is a shameless plug. My short story, Raffled Kiss is part of the upcoming Dreamspinner’s Anthology One Pulse to be release this coming Monday, September 19th. All proceeds will be donated to LGBT organizations in central Florida.

“Hey, guys!” someone called from the door, and they all turned. “If you all aren’t too busy, I’m selling tickets for the First Kiss raffle,” a junior sailor added.

As if no one had talked, Jones continued to the regulation couch by the grinder, and Walters grabbed a magazine before standing beside Daniel. The sailor looked over expectantly, but no one acknowledged him.

“Come on, guys. It’s tradition, you know? The sailor and the nurse kissing in Time Square? End of World War II? All the romance and shit? Plus, we get more money for the Christmas party.”

Just like his sister, dad, and granddaddy before him, Daniel Matthews married his high school sweetheart and joined the Navy. That he had the choice to marry a man after the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell was a slight difference. Being apart from his husband more often than not might be a given, but winning the First Kiss raffle was a prank gone right.

Since they met during freshman year, Ford Jennings knew his future husband’s dreams—to join the military and serve his country. Waiting pier side with a cameraman capturing his every move might be a requirement, but the chance to show others that love triumphs over any obstacle is an opportunity of a lifetime.

2016 #ROW80 Round 3: Check-In #12 | 10 Minute Novelist: Update #27

I’m adjusting the day, so it shows as Monday, but I’m writing this post on Monday night. Yes, I had a couple of busy days with family visiting from out-of-state and getting ready for the kids back to school, but those aren’t the only reason.

I’m the Queen of Procrastination, and it gets worse from time to time. Small tasks, like this post, get pushed back, and my WIPs stayed closed. It takes me a couple of days to come back to reality, but I hope to do some writing tomorrow. I still have a beta critique to finish writing and two deadlines for Sept 16th.

Not much have changed since my last update, other than finishing this post.

#RAINBOWSNIPPETS *~* JULY 30-31, 2016 *~*

I know I said last week’s snippet was going to be the last one from Raffled Kiss, but I got my first round of edits from DSP overnight and had to share. I promise to move to a different story next week.

He tried to hide his happiness, but a flustered Ford was a sight to behold. If only he could see it. It was moments like this when he hated the distance between them. He craved his husband by his side. This had been the longest separation since they’d met at age fourteen. Not even the eight weeks of boot camp, followed by A School, prepared them for the almost eight months without each other.

* Today’s snippet is part of a call between Ford & Daniel that took place before last week’s scene, just in case you were wondering.

One Down, Many More to Go

2016 #ROW80 Round 3: Check-In #3

Today, I hit submit on another short story. This one for an anthology to benefit the victims and families impacted by the Orlando Shooting. It’s a feel good, love wins kind of story; with a sweet young couple and a first kiss. I’ll let you know more when as we go.

The rest of the day, I have been catching up on book reviews and beta reads. And later on, I’m planning to go over what I already have for my next short story. This one a holiday travel short of about 12K words.

Oh, and I got a lot of cool fonts & add-ons for Photoshop just in time to play with the covers for my next two BDSM short stories coming out this fall.
