#RAINBOWSNIPPETS *~* SEPTEMBER 10-11, 2016 *~*

For some reason, my short stories always take me longer to write than anything else. I think it has to do with trying to tell a complete story in the less amount of words possible and still make it interesting enough. As you see, I’m still working on the same story than last week. And, I’m still in the same place; with three more chapters to go.

After I finish writing this post, I’m planning to do some sprints. Hopefully, I’ll be done at some point.

“Got the chair.”

“Good, good. Bring it here and lower it as much as you can. I’ll put a towel here,” Jonah said pointing at the counter’s edge, “and wrap another over your shoulders to keep your shirt dry since I don’t have any of my salon capes with me.”

Before doing anything else, Madison removed his shirt and tossed it aside. The way Jonah gasped in surprise had him smiling and moving forward toward him until they were less than a breath away. “This way we don’t have to worry about the shirt,” he murmured against Jonah’s lips before returning to the chair. He did as asked, setting it by the sink before waiting for the other man to join him.

It’s a new month, but I’m still working on the same story. It took me a while and a week with a cold to find the right voice for one of my main characters. Now that I figured out his personality, I’m having an easier time writing his story. One thing, though, he still sounds a lot younger than I want him to be. Oh, and I have changed his name three times.

I should be reaching the halfway point in this story today, and hopefully, have it ready for my editor by the end of the holiday weekend.

Jonah looked up when Madison traced his upper lip with his index finger, and couldn’t control the whimper that escaped him at the touch. Adrianne and Marshall laughed, but the intensity of Madison’s gaze had Jonah’s dick throbbing, and for a moment, he thought Madison knew. If not, the way his body shivered was all the evidence Madison would need.

“Come on, Princess. Let’s see what you can do for me.”

He grabbed his bag and followed Madison without looking back at their family, but not before mumbling, “Don’t call me Princess,” on his way out.

One Chapter One Too Many

2016 #ROW80 Round 3: Check-In #16 | 10 Minute Novelist: Update #29

I write linearly. I had tried to work out of order, but it had never worked for me. I like to know exactly what happens from point A to point B. For the last week and a half, I had been trying to work on my BDSM short story. By now, I have about three chapters 1, two chapters 2, and one and a half chapters 3.

The main problem I have is the main characters itself. I have a pretty good idea of who they are and what they want for their relationship when I’m looking at them separately. But when I try to work them together, they turn into teenagers or pushovers.

I guess that before I write another chapter 1, I’d have to go over their character profiles one more time and see what exactly is preventing them from reaching their HEA.

Well, I didn’t finish the story as I planned. And last night, I decided to scrap what I had and start over. Today’s snippet is from the original story, and I might use it, but, hey, will see.

The prompter requested a light & fluffy BDSM story between thirtysomething years old and my characters were sounding like teenagers with a crush. When I start the re-write, I’m going to let them be free and if one wants to call the other Daddy, who I am to interfere. I’m going for short, smutty, and… and…

“Oh. I’m game. It’s been years since I had played makeup with Stewart,” Adrienne said. “If we were at home, you could have worn one of my dresses too.”

Madison could swear he heard Stewart growl but the image of Stewart wearing a dress and makeup as he knelt by Madison’s feet had him trying to figure out a way to make it happen; with or without the dress.

“I’m going to start thinking that you’re the reason I’m gay,” Stewart said, moving to leave the kitchen.

He could still read Stewart’s embarrassment, and he needed it to be only for him. “Okay. That’s enough, guys,” Madison said stopping Stewart’s retreat.

The kids go back to school on Monday, and I’m planning to give this story the time of the day, and finish it. My goal is to send it to my editor before the next #RainbowSnippets weekend.

Today’s interaction is between Stewart and his older sister, Adrienne. She’s married to Marshall, Madison’s younger brother. That explanation sounded like an episode of Jerry Springer… lol 😛

“If I didn’t know you were over your crush on Marshall, I’d have thought you were standing here, lusting after my husband.”

“Jesus, woman! Your parents didn’t teach you not to sneak up on people? You almost gave me a hard attack.”

“Nah, they were too busy dealing with you and your raging hormones to worry about my manners.”

Adrienne was right. He had been a precocious boy and then a rebel teen challenging their parents’ rules since he discovered what his dick was for.
