#RAINBOWSNIPPETS *~* Jan 9-10, 2016 *~*

This week I’m going old school. I wrote my first MM Romance story back in 2014, for the Goodreads MM Romance group event Don’t Read in the Closet. It was an exciting endeavor, and the first time I got a story out for others to read. Back then, I was happy with how A Chance to Fight turned out, but now, I can tell I had a lot to learn. Hopefully, this year, I’d have a chance to re-write this story because the characters deserve another chance to tell their story. In the meantime, enjoy this week’s six sentences.

Austin kept staring. It was almost impossible to stop, due to the low-hanging pajama bottoms Gavin was wearing. He had to smile. As always, Gavin didn’t have a shirt on, but he was wearing a pair of fuzzy, bright socks. According to him, the carpet tickled his feet if he didn’t wear them. Austin wanted to go down on his knees and beg for forgiveness, but knew he would probably end up kissing Gavin’s crotch instead.

#RAINBOWSNIPPETS *~* DEC. 19-20, 2015 *~*

This weekend we are moving to the second book in the Gate to the Worlds series, Beyond the King’s Curse. Mermen, mersharks, mermallions, and many more sea creatures under the Bermuda Triangle.

“Are you going to make me chase you?” Tristan asked playfully.

Shivering at Tristan’s words, Tiberius twisted and turned, trying to gain speed. They zigzagged around reefs, schools of fish, and many other sea creatures. The seaweed and algae slowed them down, but they used the currents to their benefit. Tiberius’s heart was racing with excitement as he felt Tristan getting closer.

“Accept it, my love. You are not going to catch me,” Tiberius taunted Tristan.

Interview @ Books After Dark

Four Stories copyI was invited by Gillian St. Kevern to stop by Books After Dark to talk about my experiences participating in this year’s Don’t Read in the Closet: Love is an Open Road event hosted by the Goodreads MM Romance group and the Bring Out Your Kink event hosted by the Goodreads BDSM group. Between the two events, I wrote four stories— two of them are currently available to download. If you want to know more about the events, my process, and my next release, please free to stop by Gillian’s blog, and don’t forget to say hi.

And, did you know my host wrote two stories of her own for this year’s #DRitC event? (click on the covers for more)

Deep Magic - Jutoh “Oliver Evans spent his youth spinning one tall tale after another until it got him over his head in trouble. Now he has returned to his grandmother’s cottage in Aberdaron, determined to put his past behind him and settle down. But the misty Llŷn Peninsula hides dangerous secrets and Olly is torn between the Longing, a powerful force driving him away from the only home he has ever known, and the growing conviction that the prince of his childhood make-believe is real and in need of Olly’s help.
There is more truth in Olly’s stories than he realises. If he is to have any chance of righting past wrongs and rescuing his prince, Olly must navigate the truth in his old stories and discover the magic right in front of him. But Olly has a powerful enemy on the Llŷn, an ancient king who would like to end Olly’s story-telling permanently.”

The Biggest Scoop - Jutoh “Everything is going wrong for Milo Markopoulos. The future of the school newsletter is in jeopardy, he doesn’t have a single friend among his junior classmates, and his film script has just been rejected again. Worse, he has only one day to find a story that will satisfy newspaper editor, Candice. Enter transfer student, Taylor. Good looking, responsible, and possessed of a mysterious something that has him turning heads on his first day of school, Taylor is the story Milo is looking for — too bad Taylor has plans for a quiet high school experience.
Despite their many differences of opinion, Milo finds himself developing a close journalistic relationship with the future class president. But Taylor’s success might put an end to their burgeoning friendship. What will happen when Taylor is no longer Milo’s story? How far will Milo go to save the newspaper?”

So now it’s time to jump the boat, read, and join our conversation @ Lila Leigh Hunter on Bring Out Your Kink!

The Start of a New Season

It’s been a while since I stopped by just to chat. With Fall getting closer it’s time to reflect about the last six months and the times to come. Personally, this is the start of the busy season in my house. Not only school starts for 3 out of 4 kids, but it coincides with the start of the birthday and holiday seasons. Therefore, it works great as the new beginning for my writing cycle.

At the beginning of March, I decided to participate in the Don’t Read in the Closet: Love is an Open Road writing event hosted by the Goodreads M/M Romance Group.  I committed to one story prompt and started the exciting process. Then, by the end of the month, a different prompt became orphan (original author had to withdraw) and I adopted it; increasing my commitment to two stories. So far, so good.

The first prompt was about a pirate and his first love and developed into St. Andrew’s Bay Chronicles. And the poor orphan merman found love with a mershark in Beyond the King’s Curse. Both stories are now part of the Gate to the Worlds series which would consist of five novellas— about 25k words each, with the events running parallel. I’m hoping to release the last three stories during 2016 since the first two are already available for free download.

By June 1st I was done with the stories and ready to work on a Xmas story I wanted to submit to a publisher’s open call. I started the research and had some ideas written down, but I received a newsletter from the Goodreads BDSM group (which I had joined several days before) and got sidetracked. They were looking for authors to participate in their first writing event and I couldn’t say no after I read one of their prompts. Couple of hours later and Xmas story forgotten, I started working on my first BDSM story. And once again, I got distracted by a different prompt that was left behind collecting dust, ending up with two more stories.

I submitted Binding Jax’s Heart by the end of July, not only my first BDSM story, but my first ménage, and with a domme to boost. It’s going to be available for exclusive release September 16th. After that, I moved to the next prompt for which I got an extension before I claimed it. This second story was about a flamboyant photographer looking for a bear to call his boy. It gave me the most trouble from all the stories I have written so far, but I like it anyway. Is more of an erotic romance than anything else, but still has a lot of heart. The photographer morphed into a genderfluid character, but it works well with the prompt anyway. Graphic Exposure was submitted at the end of August and it is scheduled for exclusive release October 16th.

Wow, that was a mouth type full. And don’t even get me started about all the reading & flash fics I did, but that’s a story for a different post.

Now up to the new season….

I’m very happy with the four stories I wrote during the last six months. And that includes all the research, outlining, writing, editing, cover design, and everything else involved to get them ready for you, guys. Running high on all that, I’m planning to concentrate on writing full-time instead of just seeing it as a hobby. I guess I need to justify all my free time (according to everyone that knows me) now that school started.

I’m taking the month of September to get organize, update websites & social media outlets, and to get the ideas flowing. I’m hoping to write that Xmas story I abandoned, plus a short follow up to The Glass Ornament (last year’s seasonal short). It may sound like a lot, but I’m looking forward to it. As soon as I have more details about anything, I’ll let you all know.

I also write under other pen names (Leigh Hunter being one of them) and those are getting new stories and content as well. Perhaps on a smaller scale, but they deserve some love too.

I’m leaving you with the current view from my desk— a beautiful afternoon after a quick summer shower, that cleaned everything for a new and bright start. Plus my work area, since I always clear it up before I start a new project. It may look like a hoarder’s dwelling, but it is just organized chaos.

What about you? Any new plans for the Fall and Winter?
