Monday Flash Fic – Benches – 02/13/2017

Benches

Sebastian continued down the path, searching for the right spot. “This one has a perfect view of the cathedral, but the next unit has better insulation,” he mumbled to himself. It was starting to get dark and the tall trees cast shadows over the mix of mud and snow covering the park’s ground.

“Eeny, meeny, miny, moe,” he sing-sang, pointing at the benches. All empty, thanks to the gods and the cold weather. Sebastian wrapped his arms around his middle, trying to warm up. Another night, another bench. At least he could choose one without the need for a fight.

Hop for Visibility, Awareness and Equality 2016

Umbrella No YearToday is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia. A diverse group of authors, publishers, reviewers, cover designers, and allies have joined in to bring awareness to discrimination and to celebrate our diversity not only within the community at large but within our own genres and books*

There are two charities that are dear to my heart and I always try to talk about them as much as possible. The first one is The Trevor Project. They’re the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people ages 13-24. And the second one is The National Coalition for the Homeless. They have a target program and understand that LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) individuals face a particular set of challenges, both in becoming homeless as well as when they are trying to avoid homelessness. Suicide and homelessness are two ever-present issues within our community.  We can all contribute in order to bring awareness and understanding. They need donations, volunteers, and all the help we can offer.

So what this has to do with the blog hop? Well, each participant is offering a small token of appreciation to our readers.Since all my books are currently free, I’d be raffling two items during the blog hop:

  1. One ebook copy of my favorite MM Romance book, Came Upon a Midnight Clear by Katie Porter, via Amazon or ARe, and a matching donation (total cost) in the winner’s name to The Trevor Project.
  2. One ebook copy of Dragons by Jaycee Edward, via Amazon or ARe, and a matching donation (total cost) in the winner’s name to The National Coalition for the Homeless. Jaycee also wrote a beautiful flash fiction story titled Homeless for the Holidays that it is worth of your reading time. You can find it free of cost at her website [click here].

The only thing you have to do to take part of the raffle is to leave a comment below with your name and be sure to leave a valid email as well. The winner will be selected via random.org and would be announced Friday, May 27th. You can earn an extra entry if you follow my website.

Be sure to visit all the participants below, and stop back here again on May 27th for the winners reveal.

Have a great day!
