Done with promo and everything else is up-to-date. I’m hoping to finish editing my novella this week, and send it to betas over the weekend. I do need to take the time to plan my next story and set the Scrivener file for my next edit. Other than that, not much to tell around here.

Plot Bunnies

2017 #ROW80 Round 1: Check-In #14

I have many stories I want to write and I keep track of them using Pinterest. That way, if something catches my eye, I can save it and have it ready when it’s time to write. It’s kind of my plot bunny farm. I love stopping by to visit and rediscover all those characters waiting for me.

Yesterday, I worked on a blurb, characters, and rough outline for a short story I want to write. Well, instead of moving further into the planning stage today, the story’s going back into the farm. I realized I want to dedicate more time to it, which I don’t have at the moment. Plus, it turned into a YA paranormal. I’d have to do a lot of research before I can write something like that.

So today is back to square one. My new routine with several blocks of time for writing and editing seems to be helping as well. I don’t feel guilty taking the time to brainstorm and research when I know I’d have time to do some editing later on the day. Plus, it keeps me away from social media during those times.

Also, I’m trying to get used to working on more than one project at a time. In hopes to switch between them when I hit that dread spot in which I have to fight with my characters to move forward. It also helps to keep a constant stream of possible releases in the near future.

I think I have enough story concepts to last me, at least, five years. If I could only write faster.

So far this week:

  • 2 books read
  • 2 books reviews
  • 3 regular blog posts
  • 1 flash fiction piece
  • Last promo posts

A Little Quickie

2017 #ROW80 Round 1: Check-In #12 | 10 Minute Novelist: Update #6

Short and sweet today since nothing has changed, much. Still working on the blog tour and everything else still on hold–with the exception of my book reviews. Even so, I’m reading a lot less.

The book comes out on the 15th and I have to send the last guest post on the 16th after that, I should be able to slow down for a couple of days. And then, back to the saddle and the stories left behind.

Another Week Gone

2017 #ROW80 Round 1: Check-In #10 | 10 Minute Novelist: Update #5

I don’t know where time’s going but these last couple of weeks had flown by. My book tour for Dating in Retrospect starts this Thursday and I’m still writing guest posts. Everything writing related had taken a backseat. Not because of the promo, but because I can’t find the right place to start. I had been having this problem since September ’16. There’s so much I want to do that I can’t zero out on one or two things.

I have a couple of books to read and review this week, plus the posts. Hopefully, by the time the tour starts, I’d have enough focus left to work on some new words. I just need to find the will to sit down and write. My routine is starting to make sense and everything is moving forward. I simply need to get with the script.

January ’17 Recap

2017 #ROW80 Round 1: Update #9

Today’s post is mostly about numbers. January was a very successful month even when I wasn’t working on a project. I think I caught up with everything I needed to do before moving forward. I still have some guest posts to write for the release of Dating in Retrospect, but things are going good and on time for the February 15th release.

February is going to be a busier month. I’m starting to work on two stories and a set of edits. I’m hoping to have the bulk of it done this month. I’d be taking part of two Valentine’s giveaways and the Don’t Buy My Love review program for Uncle! Plus, I have my regular reviews and blog posts. A lot, but all doable. ❤

January by Numbers:

  • 11 books read & review
  • 33 blog posts
  • 6 guest posts
  • 5 flash fictions pieces
  • First round of edits for BJH (13 hours)
  • 1,100 original words
  • 24,748 words written for reviews, posts, etc.

So far this week:

  • 2 book read
  • 2 book reviews
  • 3 regular blog posts
  • 4 guest blog posts
  • 1 flash fiction piece
  • Lots of promo work
